Manchester-based four-piece The Slow Readers Club have released Cavalcade, the highly anticipated follow-up to their self-titled debut album.

“one of the most important bands
to emerge from Manchester’s
music scene in recent years”

The album features 12 tracks. Their sound has matured instrumentally, and is full of drama and emotion with Aaron Starkie’s melodic vocals a joy to hear. The indie electro band’s music has dark and a sombre undertone, which has drawn comparisons with Interpol, The Killers and The National.

The Slow Readers Club have been described as one of the UK’s brightest propositions with many critics predicting that 2015 will see them breaking through to become one of the most important bands to emerge from Manchester’s music scene in recent years.

Their last three singles Forever In Your Debt, Start Again and Don’t Mind have enjoyed airplay on XFM, with the latest single Forever In Your Debt also featured in the top 5 singles of the week.

The band’s previous four singles have also enjoyed extensive airplay on BBC 6 Music and Don’t Mind was selected for a coveted slot on Steve Lamacq’s Round Table which saw the single awarded a very respectable 7/10 from each guest on the panel.

The Slow Readers Club have also been getting rave reviews for their live shows, with 2014 highlights including Tramlines Festival, Party in the Pines, Blackthorn Festival and a sold out show at Night and Day.

Coveted support slots have followed with renowned bands such as Catfish & The Bottlemen, The Struts, Reverend and the Makers and The Sunshine Underground.

See them live

The Slow Readers Club are playing the Academy 3 on Saturday 18th April.

Cavalcade is out now on CD and vinyl or buy or download their new from iTunes for £7.99.
