According to Google, the manager of Manchester United is still David Moyes. We all know of course, that this is no longer the case.

Just ten months after Sir Alex Ferguson’s twenty-six years at the club, overwhelming pressure to see the “chosen one” leave has become too much and Moyes is out. Now, under the temporary gaze of club legend Ryan Giggs, the city is wondering – who will be next chewing gum in the dugout?

José Mourinho Manutd

1. José Mourinho

Currently managing Chelsea, the ‘Special One’ famously quoted “I would love to manage Manchester United but I wouldn’t be the first after Sir Alex Ferguson.”

Louis Van Haal Manutd

2. Louis van Haal

Dutch and the bookie’s favourite. Experience in managing Ajax (winning Champions League), Barcelona, AZ and Bayern Munich, though has a bit of a reputation for being egotistical and clashing with players. As he will be free after giving up his home team Holland after this year’s World Cup, this one is likely, especially because he seems to be attracting big signings recently.

Jurgen Klopp Manutd

3. Jurgen Klopp

Currently managing Borusia Dortmunt – a keen favourite until this morning, when he confessed his love for current team :”No one should even think of calling me until 2018.” But Jurgen, this is Manchester United. We’re keeping him on the list.

Sir Alex Ferguson Manutd

4. Sir Alex Ferguson

This one seems a bit like a wild pipe dream fuelled by sepia images of the team dancing through football pitches filled with flowers and trophies. Nevertheless, he’s a candidate. Matt Busby returned for a second go after his successor proved incapable, so why couldn’t Fergie?

Carlo Ancelotti Manutd

5. Carlo Ancelotti

Currenly managing Real Madrid – unlike Klopp, Ancelotti’s statement regarding the sacking of Moyes was more of a murky one. He expressed sympathy for the ex-manager and said some meaningful but played out things about the cut throat world of football. Like van Haal and unlike Moyes, Ancelotti also has experience in gigantic names, as current Real Madrid boss, and former manager at Chelsea.

Who do you think should be manager?
